Protocol Covid-19

Considering that the Covid-19 will stay for a while between us, I maintain much of the protocol I put in place as a root of the pandemic.

The protocol will vary depending on the evolution of the situation.

Patients contact the centre by telephone, email or telephone messaging.

This pimer contact will assess the possibility of a non-face-to-face session. If the cost-benefit of coming to the center is not positive, it will be better not to come and carry out the session telematically.

If it is really confirmed that the visit must be face-to-face:

  1. The session will be scheduled and billed as a long session and will have a maximum duration of 50'.
  2. I beg you to inform me if you are aware of having been in contact with someone positive sars-cov-2 in the last 14 days.
  3. An initial telephone evaluation will be carried out to establish whether the symptomatology presented by the patient could be compatible with that presented by Covid-19. The prevention measures will be the same for patients suspected of suffering Covid-19 as if not, since it is known that we can be carriers of the virus but asymptomatic. If they are potentially carriers, the search for ways to treat the patient electronically will be intensified.
  4. You must take into account the protocol of arrival at the center:
  • It is necessary to notify before arrival at the center if it is believed that the symptomatology that has is compatible with the Covid-19 or if you have had contact with affected people.
  • If you have a fever, stay home.
  • The patient may be accompanied by a person, if necessary.
  • Wear a mask, preferably surgical. Children under one year old do not need to bring one. Between the year and the age of 6, if they have coughing or sneezing, try to get them to wear it.
  • If you come with a child who may need a toy to better accept the treatment, bring it from home, please.
  • Maximum punctuality is requested.
Once the patient has arrived at the center:
  1. The patient and companion will wear a mask, preferably surgical (with the salvities of children under 6 mentioned above).
  2. The physiotherapist will wear a FFP2 mask, work pyjamas and cloth cap. With hands and wrists without jewelry and nails cut short and un colored.
  3. If you come with a stroller, it will be left at the entrance, before the grid.
  4. Hand will be disinfected in the entrance hallway to the center with hydro-alcoholic ice.
  5. After the grid, the patient and the companion can disinfect the soles of the shoes and dry them with a paper.
  6. The secretarial area will be entered and the jackets will be hung on the hangers. Bags and packages that are brought will also be left in the hanging area.
  7. You can sign the document "Informed consent for treatments in the health crisis of the Covid-19", in addition to the document of the LOPD if it is a first visit.
  8. The pen used will be disinfected.
  9. A thermometer is available without contact to check the body temperature of the patient and the possible companion.
  10. The physiotherapist will open the door of the relevant treatment room.
  11. Treatments that do not generate aerosols will be carried out in the 1st treatment room. People who will later go to treatment room 2 will also be welcomed.
  12. Treatment room 2 is reserved for aerosol-generating techniques, having prepared it to be disinfected faster.
  13. At all times, patient, companion and physiotherapist will wear a mask. During the nebulization or use of PEP systems, the possibility of putting the mask as a screen in the expiration zone will be assessed.
  14. During the session will disinfect the hands both the physiotherapist, the patient and the possible companion .
  15. Before applying aerosol-generating techniques, the physiotherapist will be placed the full EPI: gloves, waterproof robe, protective glasses, surgical mask on top of the FFP2, waterproof cap and facial protection screen.
  16. It will try to avoid the application of nebulizations un uneemly that we consider it absolutely necessary.
  17. In order to minimize the risks, patients who need it and can, will be asked to come nebulized from home.
  18. If nebulized in the center, the machine will be asked to turn on once the physiotherapist has left the treatment room and will be asked to shut down before it re-enters. It will be valued to nebulize with the window open.
  19. If the hot steam engine has been applied, the patient or his companion will be asked to turn off the machine and open the window, so that the room is vented for at least 5 minutes before the physiotherapist opens the door. The possibility of using the machine with the window open will be assessed.
  20. If cough appears during the session, if possible, we will ask the patient to notify the physiotherapist so that he can move away 2m and cough in the opposite direction to the physiotherapist. The mask will be kept on and/or the elbow will be placed to stop Flügge's micro-droplets.
  21. If the patient has to wait, if he can, he will do so in a paper scarf and throw it in a trash can with a lid.
  22. She'll be the physiotherapist opening the door of the treatment room to get out.
  23. The disinfection of the soles of the shoes will be assessed just before leaving the treatment room.
  24. Priority will be given to payment by card. And the POS terminal will be disinfected before and after each use.
  25. Before leaving, the patient and companions will wash their hands again.
  26. If you need to use the services, you can use them by disinfecting them before and after each use.
  27. The physiotherapist will adapt your individual protective equipment to whatever is necessary for each moment.
Between visit and visit, the physiotherapist:
  1. It will close and remove the bag with secretions, if it has been expectored during the session.
  2. It will disinfect the material and furniture used.
  3. The treatment room will be ventilated for a minimum of 15 minutes.
  4. When having two treatment rooms, the two rooms will be alternated so that one of them will be left at rest for an hour.
At the end of the day, the physiotherapist and/or the cleaning and disinfection assistant:
  1. It will disinfect the most commonly used surfaces throughout the center.
  2. It will rub with water and bleach or a virulent product the floor of the treatment rooms.
  3. It will ventilate the waiting room.
  4. It will treat downtown air with an ozone cannon.
Changes in the type of sessions offered:
  1. Group sessions will not be held.
  2. We introduce the possibility of carrying out the sessions on-line. Especially designed for Buteyko Method sessions and or sessions in case of active covid-19.
  3. The presence of more than one patient inside the centre will be avoided.
  4. Visits will last a maximum of 50 minutes.
  5. If you come with a child and think you will need a toy to better accept treatment, you must take it from home.
  6. It will not be possible to book short sessions.
  7. People with active "short session" passes may decide to make use of their subscription by discounting two sessions on each visit or booking the use of the pass for later, when the short sessions are reactivated. The reasons that lead us to disable short sessions are:
    • That during these sessions was used to squeeze to the maximum the half hour that almost always ended during and different patients ended up crossing in the area of secretariat, something that currently have to avoid.
    • Most sessions will produce aerosols and it is important that the physiotherapist can put and remove the EPI (Individual Protection Team) in a calm and effective way, for the safety of herself and the users of the service and its possible companions.
    • Sometimes a short session was booked but in the end it ended up needing a long one. Foreseeing for all long sessions we make sure that there is no one who is half-left or that the protocol cannot be fulfilled.
    • If you have active "short session" credits, remind me when asking for an hour. We can maintain them in case we need only one type of intervention: only one machine, only nasal hygiene or just drainage. The short visit will be 20 minutes maximum. If you need more than one technique, we will have to book a whole hour, discounting two visits of the pass. Thanks for the understanding.
